About RCN

Recumbent Cyclist News is is published by Bob & Marilyn Bryant in Port Townsend, Washington. RCN is published six times per year, every other month. 4,000 issues are mailed worldwide to paid subscribers. We are a two-person company publishing from our home-office for nearly 15 years. We have no employees, only dedicated volunteers and friends. The articles in RCN are not mainstream reformatted ad or website copy - they are written by and for recumbent enthusiasts. Unlike many other publications, we offer educated constructive criticisms. RCN offers readers a unique perspective and recumbent bicycle education not available anywhere else. RCN is a small niche publication that does not have the benefit of big corporate advertising. We are the voice of the recumbent world and have been since 1990. Please consider supporting our mission by signing up for a subscription.

What the industry says about RCN's publisher, Bob Bryant:

"Bob loves bicycles! He loves trikes, too! He's completely honest and says what he thinks. This is good for the consumer but sometimes a manufacturer takes offense at what was meant to be constructive criticism. Sometimes they pull their ads. Bob doesn't pull any punches and feels it's more important to inform his readers than to play up to the manufacturers. He spares none of us. Once, a letter to the editor praised Bob's integrity by saying he had the nerve to criticize Gardner Martin.'" - Gardner Martin, Easy Races, Inc

"I've come to respect Bob and what he's done with RCN. He tells it like it is in an eloquent style. The industry needs him." - Fast Freddy Markham, Santa Cruz, CA

"People like to read RCN cover to cover. RCN stands out as a rare piece of character. Bob has a bit of a 6th sense - front end geometry and the feel of a bike are things that Bob can pick up in an instant." - Kelvin Clark, Angletech.

"Bob Bryant should be considered one of the major contributors to the growth of recumbents." - Dick Ryan, Ryan Recumbents

"Bob takes risks with RCN - but not at the expense of his integrity." - Jeff Potter, www.outyourbackdoor.com

"In print Bob comes off as knowledgeable, opinionated, funny, detail-oriented, and occasionally grumpy. In real life on the other hand, he's well come to think of it, that's pretty much the way he is in real life, too." "Bob will be the first person to tell you that he's not always right. He understands that people can see things differently. Look at any issue of RCN and you'll see Bob turning over a good chunk of space to make sure people who disagree with him get a chance to have their voices heard as well." - Kent Peterson, Issaquah, WA

"RCN is the focal point for the Recumbent industry, whether you are a manufacturer, home builder, adventure seeker, researcher, or a dreamer." - Connie McAyeal
